None of the 14 songs on "Hang" was written after the death of Skinner, though the"Breaking Down" sounds as if it could have been. "And you take it all for granted/and it's all just slip away/and made You crawl toward redemption and nothing much today," Stanley singing. Co-authored by Michael Szymczyk (son of veteran audio engineer Bill Szymczyk, who mixed the album Stanley produced), hard-driving songs proved eerily prescient. "When things fall in real life, I looked back at the lyrics and it's such a gut feeling," said Stanley. "It was written months before he was diagnosed, but it sounds like I wrote it the day after he died." "This is a situation that we faced here limited".
"I really should not have to live through it," he said. "Since then, I got a different perspective on things. I miss the idea that I was immortal. It was like, ' this is a limited situation we faced here." "I have a song on the album ' The Ground ' [2003] called ' My last Day on Earth." Basically, it's a list of things I wanted to do on my last day. "My mother just hate the song. I said, ' mom, it's up to the music and it's up to the lyrics. I am very glad about things.
